ICHNEFTES
By Sophocles. An adaptation by Nicos Shiafkalis
Somebody stole Apollo’s cows. He goes all around looking for them, offering a reward. He meets Silinos, father of the satyrs who promises to find them.
Silinos and the satyrs discover that Hermes stole the cows and keeps them in a cave, playing the first lyra, which he made out of the shell of a tortoise.
Apollo, impressed by Hermes’ invention, agrees to exchange his cows with the lyra, he gives a lot of gold to Silinos and his satyrs and we have a happy end.
