Five theatre schools or University Theatre departments will be selected to participate in this year’s Meeting and Festival.
This yearly event is an activity of the Cultural Identity and Development Committee of the ITI, organized by the Cyprus Centre of the I.T.I and the International Summer Institute.
Each theatre school should prepare a twenty minute scene from an ancient Greek play (two actors and a director) which they will bring with them for final rehearsals and performance.
As from this year the participation is competitive and the first three winners will get prizes of 2000, 1000 and 400 EURO. respectively.
The performances of theatre schools is an exemplary expression of the priority given by the I.T.I to artistic education and they illustrate in a practical way the diversity of approaches that can be employed in reviving ancient Greek drama for contemporary audiences.

The organizers cover participation and accommodation fees for three participants from each school, for the whole period of eleven days.
